Rumelt

The Kiwanis Club of Topsail Island welcomed Daniel L. Rumelt of the Federal Communications Commission. Rumelt is Senior Outreach Advisor Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau of Washington D.C. 20554. He was in town to discuss the Digital TV transition. Currently many over-the-air stations are broadcasting in both analog and digital formats. While the national DTV transition will be on Feb. 17, 2009, the Wilmington area will transition at noon on Sept. 2008. After that date, full power commercial stations will only broadcast in digital.
